I used he block this year for my taxes thought I would give them another chance. But I was completely wrong.

I used their service told me I was doing the free tax return but I was completely charged not sure why I was charged but they charged me. To add insult to injury they made me sign up for spruce come to find out I never received my card. I used the mobile wallet for a day or two after that it would deny my transactions. But I looked and someone had been pulling money out of my account using the very card I never received.

I was out of town at the time. I even gave them proof I was not here when all that went about I even filed a police report I did everything they asked me to do yet they still keep denying my claim and not giving me a reason to why it's denied. Just saying the denial still stands if you ask me this company is going through the ringer and I am surely going to look into counsel on this matter. I was even told that they have access to your PIN number.

Someone on the phone told me the PIN number which to me made no sense. I have over 60 pictures of screenshots where I have been constantly reaching out phones calls and chats talking to different people each time got all their names and everything and was just getting the run around left and right.

This is a terrible company. My next step is to contact the irs and file fraud against them.

I filed taxes with h and r block app, and paid a tax pro to review it, Chhandita Roy is her name.then after I had filed I got a 1099 r in the mail for a 401k withdrawal I had completely forgot about, so I notified my tax pro and she said to wait until I got my return and file a amended return, I asked if she could help me with that, and she never replied, so I waited probably at least a month maybe longer, then I asked her again, and she said she couldnt do that, that I had to go a local h and r block, well the person at my local h and r block cant help me because my file is locked to the original tax pro, Chhandita Roy, I need my file unlocked and sent to Jennifer tisdale at the Lake City SC office, so she can help do Chhanditas job that I already paid Chhandita to do. Us customer dont understand taxes, thats why pay comoainirs h and r block to help us do it, because we dont know how.

I dont feel like i should have to pay to file the amended return but I also dont feel Jennifer tisdale at the Lake City SC office should do it for free.

I already paid and got terrible customer service from Chhandita Roy .i paid for the extended service peace of mind plan and my mind is not a peace and my tax pro cant seem to help me. Im stressed out right now and a little pissed off.

After days of attempting to contact h&r block, below is the email I wrote via this site. It provides them with the incidents that took place and practices in which their names on:

I have had an extremely deceitful experience with my tax return at HR Block.

My tax preparer was a vicious and intentionally unethical individual whom both mishandled my taxes (wrongfully advising me that I didn't need to include my BTC purchases if it was for online gambling and I lost it) and manipulated the trust I had placed into what had seemed to be an innocent lady.(Being evasive to answering my questions about potential costs; putting it off saying "we'll get to that in a second" and "it was just on the screen, but im actually going to get you a coupon/discount applied to that so it will be less, hold on". [She stands up and walks away and returns with what I assumed to be a coupon she appeared to be punching a code of it into her computer] She did in fact give me a number of what Im pretty sure was $260 but had presented it to be too much and said something about the system having two different charges that she was trying to remove the 'duplicated charge' -the term she had used. She said it wasn't letting her take it out and this was when she had got up and came back with a coupon I seen a number come up after she punched the code i I'm almost certain was $80. But she had said "okay I was able to adjust it for you I'm not sure why that's entered twice, but I was able to knock a decent portion off" this is the reason I became curious to how much I was being charged.

To be completely honest I myself have only filed taxes once prior to this; I am still relatively young, yet not a fool can be taken advantage of. I digress, to be completely honest I had feared the refund advance I went in and applied for at Jackson Hewitt was somehow going to be coming out of my refund. I had a similar terrible experience with them and very alike practices were taken. Anyways I assumed this was what she was referring to but after looking into a brief research on this whole tax thing, I had realized it was not this.

But I had kept asking how much it was going to be and this is where she had been invasive and told me whats quoted above.

Long story short I get a notification my Ohio tax return was received and that she was taking all of it and leaving me with none of it $290.

I now realize that this was stolen from me, after reviewing both IRS policy, h&r block policy ( pertaining to negligence of and falsification her checklist _documented on site made evident) as well as legislation on tax fraud. I wanted to bring this to h&r block's attention, after attempting to contact her had failed, in hopes to resolve this entire incident much less simpler than the steps i am advised to take afterward.

We had our taxes completed by the H&R Block in Pinson, AL. Ms.

Eva Hall helped us from 2018 to 2022 after we moved from Huntsville, AL, and retired from the military. Ms. Hall suggested that we file amended returns for tax years 2019, 2020, and 2021 due to a new benefit for 100% disabled veterans. Unfortunately, after an IRS review and receiving a refund on the 2020 amended return, we received an IRS debt due to the error and additional scrutiny of our tax returns by the IRS, which resulted in an IRS code 922 for unreported income on our 2022 tax return.

After having our 2023 taxes done by Jackson Hewitt, that tax preparer stated that H&R Block had prepared our taxes incorrectly, which resulted in an IRS debt. My husband and I reached out to the H&R Block via email and phone, but our emails and phone calls were not returned.

We paid for peace of mind but didn't get any response or resolution from H&R Block. We are not only paying a tax debt, but are also in the process of hiring a tax relief lawyer/specialist.

H&R Block filed my 2023 tax return & charged me $450. A few weeks later, I received a notice from the IRS that there was a "miscalculation" on my return.

I showed the letter to Block and asked for a refund of my tax prep fee, in accordance with their guarantee, which states "If you discover an H&R Block error on your return that entitles you to a larger refund (or smaller tax liability), we'll refund the tax prep fee for that return and file an amended return at no additional cost".

I was told that since "I" didn't discover the error, but the IRS did, I was not entitled to a refund of my fee. If I have to review the return for errors, why should I pay them?

I'll never use H&R Block again and encourage others not to do so either!

H&R Block prepared my taxes. It showed that I owed 3x more NYS income tax than last year, and I had less income this year!

I told my tax preparer that something must be wrong. He said that he checked the figures, but obviously, he didn't, and he proceeded to e-file my taxes. I went home and compared this year's return with last year's return. Within 5 minutes, I was able to see the problem - I was not given the NYS retirement exclusion this year, causing the 3x higher amount to be paid.

It turns out that there was a problem with the H&R Block software. An amendment was filed to correct their software glitch. I now owed NYS $1100 less than they originally filed! And when the e-debits were withdrawn on April 15th, the IRS double-dipped and made two withdrawals of the same amount!

So, I paid my taxes plus the higher amount owed to NYS and I had to cover the amount that the IRS withdrew twice! What a mess! How many people have extra money in their checking account to cover these extra amounts? I only had the extra amount because I had saved money for home improvements this spring, which currently have been put on hold until I receive the money back from the IRS and NYS.

My tax preparer said that he would process an H&R Block refund for the tax preparation fees that I had paid, because of their software error, but after 5 weeks, I am still waiting for their refund. After calling H&R Block every week to see where the check is, I am told the same story - my complaint is being reviewed and is being escalated to a manager who will call me back. I have yet to talk to anyone who can give me an answer about my refund! H&R Block does NOT care about their customers.

They have put me in a financial hardship and have shown no effort to help me out. I continue to wait for my H&R Block fee refund, for the IRS double withdrawal check, and for the NYS refund difference between the two filings!

And all this after purchasing the H&R Block Peace of Mind. What a joke!

I've had a problem since day one with this h&r online tax preparer I got charged $400 and that's not what I was told and also the reason I came is get the advance loan he applied in my deceased husband's name so of course it got denied it said taxpayer deceased and then he erased his messages didn't call me back I didn't call this office in New Jersey no contact at all I have some I had a few questions before he sent the taxes never responded wouldn't answer any questions but $400 worth and then my state income taxes get stolen from a town I have never even drove through it's over an hour away from my home and I called the emerald card they did investigation within 6 days never got a call email nothing I called everyday and then out of blue six days later said it was denied because location of that transaction was in close to my living and that's not true not even close and my pen two times there was air I called them two times and they told me it was their system don't worry don't worry we'll get you a new pit so I didn't connect the dots I've never had somebody steal anything out of my bank account or money they need to do an investigation h&r block emerald card and find out prosecute who's taking money I am not the only one first one this has been going on for years and if you go read all these claims they deny everybody it's crazy I would have read all this I would have never this is the first time I've come to agent about her black and I me and my kids were waiting for that money and needed that money and when it got deposited on the emerald card not even a minute later it was it was gone for transactions at $202 from a p a i i s o even if you looked it up it says if there's multiple transactions from that it's it's Friday so they need to do their job get a camera get the video find out I got five debit cards from them all the same number my debit card number they need to see how this happened what card with the three digit security code get the camera see who did it and then somebody working in the offices before h&r block is it this is crazy I'm not going to stop I've already contacted the attorney general news every platform and I'm not going to stop that's $900 of my money I'm just not going to say okay when somebody stole my money and get away with it and just because they denied it because of the location it's an hour away from my home I've never heard of such a thing in my life this has never happened to me it's devastating and I can't believe a company would actually do this to one of their customers this is fraud it's a taxes and there has to be more investigation into where my money and who stole My money somebody has to actually really look into this and find out who stole my money prosecute them find out who's doing it and why because it's going on to a lot of people and h&r block don't want to get back the money so just because I live within an hour of transactions I've never been through that town I was just devastated I can't even believe this happened and I asked for the investigators name a phone number the department number your customer service they don't know anything there's no name they say there's no number nobody I can talk to so did a police report I did everything and I need my money I mean I just can't believe this happened to me shame on shame on h&r block they really need to be shut down they are this is a scam there's been a scam going on and I believe this this is a scam

I get letter reason I live close I never even heard of this town never been to it never been drove through it I mapped it it's over 40 minutes from where I live another reason my pen several times I had air of my pen I called in I was told not to worry they set me up with an open and actually the same night my refund got stolen it happened that night I called in and another reason was my card they sent me so many cards with the same number on it how many more are out there these reasons are not acceptable state refund gets stolen from me my kids we needed that and I'm just supposed to say okay and someone gets away with my money they need to find out who did this and prosecute this isn't right and I'm not going to stop until I get my money back I even asked who's the investigator can I call can I talk to someone nobody has any answers I said kid you guys get the camera video from wherever this what this happened where they did these transactions cuz it's unbelievable this never happened to me before another I never received any alerts never with my card when it was used nothing now when they cancel that card and gave me another card I wouldn't notification set that up but again they said they mailed me up a card never received that either again I have never been to this town I didn't even know my state had been deposited and that same night I was on the phone with customer service the phone number on the back of the card because there was an air again with my pin this isn't right I really need somebody to help me and help me get my tax money back this isn't fair at all and they say by the location I never even heard of this town that these transactions were taken I will not give up I will keep going and going to every news outlet every online platform till somebody helps me someone who did this and took install all my tax money needs to be found and prosecuted I'm not going to walk away and just say okay bye-bye my money that's not right what h&r block you guys are doing is not right and I see this has happened to several a lot of other people that denial this is my tax money and it was stole

Yes, I spoke with someone about week ago abt a lot of charges that had been made from my emerald card to some online gaming that was not me they was supposed emailed me ,papers never did I hve called & ask still yet week later nothing I called again the lady said they was going to DENY my case I asked why bc they nvr even give me chance to show them PROOF OF these transactions that was made through my cash app account which wasnt being monitored & it shows they was different devices in n out my account we r talking like couple thousand dollars here ,so I do have the proof that once I realized what had happened I went into & sent refund request to these ppl which block me as well as the cash app people bc they know they are in the Wrong ! Someone owe me my $ back regardless if I have to hire a lawyer I will again I have proof of all these multiple transactions that cash app has asked me over over the same question I have also reported them to bbb ! I will do anyone else the same that refuses to give me my $ BCK as well

2/21 I went to Pottsville PA H&R Block and had Michelle Lurwick fill out my taxes? It was received by IRS on that date?

To date nothing has been done to get them released? When I called Michelle about this, she seemed very nonchalant and unsympathetic about the situation? I paid extra for the Insurance and you think there would be a little more concern? I called IRS last week and got as far as a robo voice recording, "they are working on it" and they hung up the call?

I called Michelle last week, well SURPRISE! she is on vacation this week? She will be in Monday and Tuesday of next week. I called at 9:05 her normal start time is 9:00 a.m.

she was not in yet? Must be nice to show up to work when you feel like it and even after a week's vacation. It is now 2 hours and 30 minutes since I left a message and still no call back? I called Boston number and she said they do not handle PA?

I asked "who does" she had no clue? So here I am no one will give me answer on ANYTHING??? I paid taxes for over 50 years and had not given IRS any doubt on my Return? This time I can only think of what I heard a few months ago that Biden put on tens of thousands of IRS agents extra, Demonic Demoncrats for the sole purpose of pulling filings of people who are Registered Republican Voters and hold onto them for as long as you can?

The problem is I was going to use the refund to catch up on Utility Bills that will soon be shut off? Where do I go from here and WHO do I get to help me because it is obvious that the Pottsville office does not give a dam, they got my money now BUZZ OFF is their attitude.

On March 7th I report fraud charges on my emerald card for zula casino March 2nd-March 5th. The claim was denied so I appeal the decision emailing a letter stating the charges were not mine because at that time i was incarcerated with a copy of the police report showing i was not released until later that month.

I called March 7th checking to see if i had enough money for bond and found out about thoses charges to zula casino I didn't have access to my phone or card the entire time i was in jail. I never received a call,email or a fraud statement from hr block that is the reason i sent a email staing the charges were not mine .

I have never done any gambling online.i have talked to several different customer service reps that keep entering a new case getting denied. I know with the emerald card you have the mastercard 0 liability program so I'm not understanding why my case is getting denied when one customer service rep state it is because they didnt receive the fraud statement which i have requested several times and i havent received the statement to fill out.
